One Family

Let me introduce you to the three children from the family Pamla, living in Mzamomhle, East London, South-Africa: The twins Zikhona and Zandile Pamla (girls) born on 19 September 2003, and Sibulele Ntshinga, born 14 June 2004 (boy).

Zandile is quiet and shy, whilst Zikhona is spontaneous and outgoing. Sibulele lives with the twins and their mother. He is the son of the oldest child of Abegail. Therefore the twins are technically the aunts of Sibulele. The mother, Abegail Pamla was born on 28 August 1959. Her husband is absent, is mostly unemployed, and does not support the family financially. Besides the twins, Abegail has 4 older children. Her oldest son is the father of Sibulele.

Abegail does the best she can and is always cheerful. She works as a maid, 6 days a week to earn this money, which is by no means enough to support her family. Her income: 315 Rand per week (About € 35), per month € 140.
